I know from past experience, DON'T let anyone EVER stay with you especially a MALE! My boyfriend's friend lived with us for a few months and might I add, I regret EVER (to this day) telling him he could. If it were up to me when we kicked him out, his sh** would've been in the yard.

Good luck on your situation as I know it's family, just set everything straight and tell him how you feel about his laziness. It's YOUR house and he'll either listen and do better or better yet move out.
