I'm one of those who think that dogs don't belong everywhere.
WE know that Yorkies don't shed but others don't so they get upset at their presence. I have taken my Chloe into Michael's..in her 'purse' because it's right next door to PetSmart; no body in there seemed to mind.
. She's only 4 months old and still gets soooooo excited around people (I'm working on that!) that it's really NOT fun to try to take her anywhere on a leash just yet!
