Ellie's vet office just went from $38 office calls to $40 office calls. Yours sounds pretty typical but this is $40 for a 10 minute appt. and all of my questions are answered and more than one thing can be diagnosed/treated in that appt. and the vet will often take more than 10 minutes.

Ellie went to the vet the other night to have her paw looked at and she had a yeast infection in her ear. The office call was $40, then the cytology was $17, ear cleaner was $9.25 and the Otomax was $34.50...So, about $100 just for a yeast iinfection.

I really like her vet though (she doesn't own the practice or have much control over prices anyway) and vets work just as hard as doctors, so they definately deserve a lot more than they are paid...
