archie actually does that when he meets new people. he goes low to the ground, ears are back. it's a sign of submission, like saying, I'm letting my guard down for you. it's not really a big deal, but he keeps doing it because when he does it, everyone starts petting him and he gets on his back and gets belly rubs. honestly, most people would rather have dogs that are submissive to people.
