Outside, my dogs will pee and poo in the very same place or not, and I have no idea why. Inside I have only used pee pads, but like them, and they are easy when you travel and are in hotels, airports, planes, etc. I know several people on YT use cloth pee pads instead of the paper ones.
After about 4 weeks, our puppies are placed in an x-pen with their food/water, beds, toys, and pee pads. They almost always use the pee pads and go both pee and poo on them. So I think it is okay to have just one or two pads in a corner or by a door for your yorkie.
