I went into a pet store today to pick up some dog food for my grandfather's schnauzer. They had 2 CKC registered "teacup" yorkies for sale. These puppies where 8 weeks old and already looked to be about 3lbs. They where both laying in their food bowl asleep even when people stopped to talk to them they were not active at all. The price was $999. I have a friend that has been raising AKC yorkies for 20yrs. Her dogs have all of the health tests done (she works for a vet) and are Champion sired with a pedigree full of champions. She gets $500 for her males and $700 for females (which is about the average in my area). If the people that buy these pet store puppies would take any time at all to do their reseach they would realize they are getting ripped! I feel sorry for the puppies, but that is just crazy!
