I know it has to be harder when you free feed, but when I first got Madison (who had been running around on his own for some time I'm sure scavenging for food and water), I fed them both sort of side by side with a big water bowl in between them. Max would just eat his own food, but the entire time Madison was eating his food, he'd be making this sort of threatening, growling noise (it sounded scary!) and would be gulping it as fast as he could. Most of the time, he'd end up regurgitating it b/c he'd eaten so much so fast

My girlfriend told me that I should feed them away from each other.....I feed them at one end of the kitchen island, so I put Madison's bowl on one end and Max's on the other....it was amazing the difference it made in Madison's eating habits. He stopped that growling completely and now eats like more of a gentleman, hehe. And he doesn't inhale his food like he did just to make sure that someone else didn't get it first. I still feed them their snacks at the same end and that's ok, but I think it's good for them to have two separate bowls away from each other even if they do 'share'.
