Yeah, they can hold their breaths for short periods of time. I saw a program on the Discovery Channel (before VH1 existed
), and scientists were trying to figure how they migrated from one island to another. It turns out the can make a little water wheel, and "swim" through the water coming up for breath and going back down again, wheeling there way through the water.
