It is hard to determine what females are good for breeding. I know our Chelsey stayed around 4.3 lbs and was so tiny around the middle we had her spayed. You just never know.

I pray your mom is OK and stays healthy.

Thank you everyone. I am just now coming to terms that this happened, but still cannot look back at her pictures without crying.

Mama is doing great and is and was healthy. There are many reasons this can happen. The reason she was not able to have these pups on her own, was that this girl was coming down the canal tilted her head into the other horn causing what they call a "traffic jam." This then caused the other pup not to be able to move out. I then wasted time by going to the emergency vet and him telling me not to do anything, but go home and wait. Luckily I was able to get a hold of my regular vet and he told me to come right in. I was lucky and trusted my instinct that going home was not an option. They did a c-section right as soon as I got there, but was 30 minutes drive to get there from the emergency clinic. Shirley knows the whole story since I contacted her and she contacted me as this was all playng out. My mama is 5 pounds and just had the 2 girls (3 oz and 5 oz at birth). Not large at all for pups. These things just happen. It can also happen to even larger yorkies. Reason - if you have a pet to just have them spayed. But this girl was my champion and was bred to the number one yorkie in United Sates with great hopes for this litter. She was also exaimed and judge by my vet that he thought she could whelp just fine. The pup turning its head just happened and no way to go up and fix it or correcting it or knowing that this was going to happen.
The c-section was the only way we could correct the problem. Luckily I have this beautiful girl out of the two and have great hopes for her.
