Seems that a lot of people either are in or have been in the same boat I am.

I've tried the plastic barrettes like you use for babies. No go. Those are out in thirty seconds. I never use regular rubber bands, I use the coated ones like I use for my pony tails, because they don't pull on the hair. No go. The doing it while they're asleep would be good if I could do anything while they're asleep, but they never are. If they're curled up in their beds seeming to be asleep, and I'm on the phone, and I say the words puppies, dogs, girls, outside, or a myriad of other things, they're immediately awake and alert. No chance I could sneak anything in while they're sleeping. They seem to always be using one ear to listen to what I'm doing and saying even if they appear to be sleeping
