Ok this maybe confusing.

Kikyo is named after a character that is from my favorite Japanese manga and anime series ...Inyuasha! That was created by a WOMAN!! (Hard to come by)The contrast of the character as it relates to the meaning of the name just makes one appreciate it more.

Also, we decided on the name for it's meaning in Japanese to be one of the 7 principles of the Ying/Yang--"Unchanging Love";which is how my husband and I feel about one another-- and in Chinese it is the purple bellflower you see in profile as the background, which we feel is beautiful as is she.
