Some of the things I would ask are if the parents have been tested for Liver Shunt. You also want to know who their vet is and ask for a phone number so that you can call them as a reference. Ask what shots and medical care the puppies receive before leaving the breeder's home. What health gaurentee is provided? How have the puppies been socialized?

Asking too many questions is better than not enough. I ran into a lot of breeders that acted irritated by my many questions on the puppies. As soon as they began to not answer some of my questions or act like my questions were stupid, I knew I no longer wanted to deal with that breeder.
