We just got back on Sunday from a 7 or longer hour drive from North Carolina to VA with our two new Yorkies.
They slept alot, we had lots of people to hold them, but we did have a soft sided carrier just in case we needed it, but it ended up holding all of their little belongings (like a diaper bag!)
I got a little worried about ours because they got a little carsick a couple of times, usually after I tried to get them to eat and stuff. I gave them a few fingerfuls of nutrical (they did not like it) so that made me feel better.
Papertowels and Baby wipes are a lifesaver! Also a blanket/towel etc. Maybe ask the breeder if you can kinda get the rest of the litters scent on it before you leave, kinda let the others lay on it etc. It wasn't bad for us, because we had two, they snuggled together.
Also an idea for you: At night, I don't know if you are going to crate her in the hotel or what, but when we drove up from picking up our Bichon puppies about 8 years ago, we put them in the bathtub for the night with food and water. That way we didn't have to worry about them messing in the hotel, as it was contained, and the liquid mess just went right down the drain. Plus, they are free to move around and stuff, just they cannot get stuck/trapped lost anywhere. Plus, I am sure the hotel is not puppy proof. |
