I make up a bunch of them (I used to use chicken, but the turkey seems to work just as well and is much cheaper) and freeze them in small containers (at the beginning I fed Max Cesar dog food and I saved a lot of those little containers they come in, so that's what I keep them in; just fill, cover with plastic wrap and then I use aluminum foil over them and label them with the date and contents. This amount makes approx. 18 of those containers.

I use 1 can low sodium, fat free chicken broth and then add enough water to equal about 3 cups total liquid; 2 cups long grain or medium grain white rice, and 1 tube of the frozen (defrosted) ground turkey. Then just steam it all together and let cool before portioning it out.

I always liked to have some chicken/rice or the turkey/rice in the freezer even for Max in case he gets sick. That way, it's right there when I need it and I don't have to go out to get something for them.

I hope little Annika will get back to feeling herself real soon!

Hi Seana, thanks for sharing your tips on feeding Madison . . . I think that is just a tad bit too much work for me since I am already going crazy with my schedule . . .I do give my furbabies frozen carrots and peas added to thier organic chicken and kibble but today annika just had some plain boiled rice with the organic chicken mixed with a bit of water . . she still gobbled it down so hopefully she won't throw it up
