I think there are a lot of buyers who are uninformed. It's not that they don't care, they just don't know any better. I did almost two years worth of research when I decided I wanted a yorkie, but a lot of animal owners are not so thorough.
When my cousin saw my baby she decided she wanted a yorkie too. I told her I had a bunch of info for her to read up on, but two weeks later she saw an ad in the newspaper for a yorkie and actually bought it. This baby girl was only six weeks old! When I found out I was livid. But my cousin really does love her dog and it was on impulse that she bought her because she saw her and just fell in love. I know this puppy could not have an owner who loves her more.
Anyway, my point is I think it falls on the buyer and the seller. Both should care enough about the animals to do the proper research. But just because a buyer is uninformed, it doesn't always mean they won't take good care of the animal. |
