I saw an ad on a local site where people can post ads for free, where a person was advertising 2 Yorkie puppies at a reasonable price, but they were only 6 weeks old. They looked so feeble in the pictures. So I Emailed him and told him I'd be interested in one if he'd keep it a few more weeks to ensure optimal health and time with her mother. The response?

"they are both sold already"

That was it. Just a few words. Sold the 6 week old puppies in a heartbeat. Sigh.

You know, it's easy to blame the breeder. At what point though, do we hold people responsible for buying puppies that are obviously not ready to go to new homes? I guess people are just that dense, or don't care about the welfare of the animal. It's all about a cute face and a good price, I guess.

I've posted here that I wanted a 2nd Yorkie to be a friend to Peanutt because of how lonely he is all day long, and that one could have been it, but I had the morality to say "not until the puppy is ready".

The funny thing is, I'll bet the people who bought the puppies will go on and on to their friends about how much they care about the puppy, however, how much can you really care if you aren't going to let him or her spend important formative time with its mother?? Again...sigh.

pretty sad but it happens.. and ya know I am thinking the reason is they need shots about that time right..
I got a girl at 6 weeks old.. and of course she was healthy.. but the breeder did not want to put money out in shots..well I have one baby girl.. and when this breeder who does not breed anymore found out.. she got my phone number from some one and called me wanting to buy my girl.. I said no.. if she could sell a puppy at 6 weeks old.. I would not trust her with a baby from me.. and of all things she wanted a puppy for her daughter..I knew she was going to call thro a friend..when she called me she must have thought I was pretty stupid.. she told me she was looking for a yorkie baby for her granddaughter.. grrrrrrr another reason..I would not sell to her.. told her puppy was spoken for.. which it is not.. she is 5 weeks old and with me for a long time yet.. I never really even think about it until 12 weeks..takes all kinds to make this world go around..
