I'm sorry to hear about the accident. I've read about that happening to others too. I decided even before I had Littlest Mac - he does not wear any collar type item and since their tracheas are so sensitive I have a gentle harness for him when he goes outside. I can actually (but rarely do) pick him up by the leash when he has his harness on.

Littlest Mac only wears his harness outside, his clothing (only when I'm around to supervise) or he goes naked! Which he likes best.

I hope your little one feels better soon.
