I think they are winding up in shelters because of puppy mill overbreeding. I read something the other day that Yorkies have become the most popular dogs for puppy mills
I know the first time I saw a Yorkie (many, many years ago), I knew I would get one and have had a succession of them my entire adult life. Couldn't survive without a furball under my feet.
