Eddie really hasn't done anything to embarrass me, other than forgetting all his obedience lessons the minute he gets in class. I had a lab, on the other hand, that used to make a habit of it.
1. As a pup, he was walking around in a wet and muddy parking lot, spied a woman getting into a car that was identical to mine, and he hopped in and got mud all over her seats.
2. I let him off his leash while we were salmon fishing. I looked over and he was peeing on someone's fish in a bucket on the beach. And the person was watching.
3. When he turned 15, he started having bowel problems. One day I went over to my best friend's house and caught him trying to poop as we were walking in the door. I raced him out of the house in time. I thought. The next day, I got a call from my friend's 18-year-old daughter. A little turd had fallen into her shoe by the door. She was livid, and I don't blame her.
Funny thing about it. Now that he's gone, I wouldn't trade those memories for anything in the world.
