I wonder if Shelby and I should try an obedience class? Not sure if I really care if she can do the "right" tricks to the correct words. I am more interested in teaching her things like "hide in Momma's purse, be quiet and don't wiggle"

Seriously it sounds like you are doing a great job and the new word for the different type of sit is a good suggestion. But only if it matters to you! The main thing is you love your pup and you are enjoying each other.
