Sounds like you're on a good routine, BelindaY. Like you, I also don't use a monthly flea preventative. I treat the yard, not the dog. I also maintain a low-risk profile for my dogs, vaccinate minimally and feed a high quality diet. I also use flaxseed oil as a supplement. Keeping them healthy is easier than dealing with the consequences of putting too many things in and on our dogs.
