When I first brought Dakota home last feb. she would barely eat. So like some of you said above, I fed her a little "people" food (chicken, beef, ect.) because I was worried she wasn't getting enough. I finally had to be "tough" and only give her “her” food at meal times. She did start eating shortly after that, but not as regularly as I would have liked. She would often skip a meal, and then act like she was starving the next, but only eat about half her food. The breeder had her on eukanuba, so we switched off of that to blue buffalo, but she wouldn't eat it, our vet recommended royal canin, so we tried it. She seemed to like it for a while, but had recently stopped eating it again. I just tried blue buffalo again and she loves it. She is eating great now. However she is still VERY picky with her treats. The only dry treat she will take and eat right away is petco's little pretzel treats off their "treat bar". |
