Yep, it is important. Just like any bug - just bc the symptoms are gone - it doesn't mean the infection is gone yet. It's the same with humans. The symptoms are gone before the bug is gone. And the way we "catch" it is in reverse - the bug is here before the symptoms are even showing. So, it's always important to remember that even though symptoms are invisible - the bugs are still very much present and could just re-infect if we stop medications -> only at THAT point they'll have built up some antibiotic resistance to the medication because we previously stopped the medication early. That's how antibiotic-resistant superbugs get created. Giving eye ointments stinks, I know!
