and we LOVE IT!!! when i had just Cricket i used a tiny stainless bowl,, which was good enough but then with Daisy, ,it was too much filling and mess,, I ordered the Drinkwell fountain and filters,, Cricket (espeically) loves drinking running water,, the others do too,, I think they all drink more water using it,, the filters are not that expensive,, and the clean up is not a biggie for me,, even with 4 dogs drinking from it,, i clean it generally once a week,, i add to whenever needed,, but take it up and apart and just wash it all about once a week in the kitchen sink, its never a mess,,we love ours!! heres a pic of Daisy and baby Trixie at their fountainDaisy & baby Trixie at fountain.jpg
