In that situation if your dog has had his teeth examined in the last year and your vet said they were fine (no disease or tartar etc), we'd more than likely have covered that entire procedure. We can't do routine dental cleanings, but we can cover them if it's treatment for a condition. If it was an isolated tooth that was the issue, worst case scenario would have been that you got the money for the tooth, but we took off the routine cleaning. I know it sounds complex, but we divide up things so you can get the max back without angering our Underwriters.
So, yes, it would have been covered. On the upside, now that he has perfect teeth again if you were to insure him with us and this happens again in a year, it would more than likely be covered.
