I used a food reward with both mine. They were both trained by 6 months. We have a big celebration "yeah!!!!" every time they do it right and give a tiny bite of turkey lunch meat. I think the positive reinforcement and turkey did it for mine. Zoey was a yr old in March and I still give her a treat sometimes just to reinforce.
