This is from my friend, Kathy, who contacted me about the need for foster homes. I want to thank every one of you who offered to open your homes - my faith in humanity and compassion for unwanted animals was certainly restored thanks to all of you.
Thank you everyone for offering to help these babies. I received so many e-mails from people who said they would open their hearts and their homes to these angels in need. Judy, you are the best for helping spread the word. As you can see from the attached e-mail, a rescue group is taking the silkies in so they can be vetted and their medical needs taken care of. I have Bichons so I thought Silkies were the same as Yorkies. Sorry for the mix-up. Even though the silkies have been rescued, there are still many other fluffs who need foster homes until they find their forever homes. If you could open your hearts for a silkie, maybe you would consider fostering a bichon. I have two rescues from Small Paws Rescue and they are the loves of my life. The babies who come from puppy mills are so appreciative of a warm bed, food and water and all they want is to be loved. Thank you again for caring and please sign up for the newsletter from Small Paws Rescue. They are doing wonderful work.

Just a note to let you all know so you won't be worried about them:
A volunteer through the Silky Terrier Club of America is going to take the six Silkys from this weekend's kennel rescue, THANK THE LORD!
(I thought we were going to have to glue cotton balls on them and call them Bichons! I wasn't going to leave them there!)
Thanks to all of you for your assistance in finding rescue for these guys!

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
Godspeed Humphrey Sisco. Godspeed.
