No I don't see a problem with the top, especially since I reinforced the bottom. It really holds it's shape well. I think mine is the large size and depending on the size of your 2 it possibly could hold both of them. Hope this helps. :

I also think the "Pets Fly" carriers would not be big enough for 2. I have seen them in some pet stores and they didn't impress me.
