It is correct that a puppy needs shots every three weeks. I am glad you got her to drink more water. Keep up what your doing, because you do not want her to get dehydrated. The reason why a puppy needs shots every three weeks is so she can be immune to serious illnesses. There is a new member on here whose little puppy just came down with parvo. It is a deadly disease. i do not know what the breeder said she had a shot for or how old the dog was. However, it is not every month they recieve them .You need to find out what your dog had. One shot does not protect a puppy at all. they have to be given like that because the immunity does not build up in a puppy, and it is said that after three weeks there is no protection. Since your dog is 6 months when she gets the series of shots she will be protected against the most common diseases a puppy can come down with. Small dogs and puppies who do get sick have a very hard time overcoming illnessess.
AND yes, welcome to YT, I did not know a lot either until I came here. This is a great site with wonderful people
