I hope everyone understands my point and I am not looking to argue, just that living right in the middle of it all I know things for fact and not just what TV portrays or what I hear from the grapevine. It's like saying Indian people are this way or African American people are that way.... and Oh yeah Jewish people are like this...Amish people are just like everybody else. Some good some bad and some true to religion and some not so much.
Sometimes I get a good laugh because this is a touristy area in places and if someone puts words like Amish or Amish Country in a roadside stand with a quilt or piece of furniture or something they can ask more for it because the general belief that it somehow makes it folksy and well made. |
