 Playing the waiting game.
In the last few months, I've been trying to get my Yorkie Katie to 'wait'. When we go through the door, the garden gate or any road I get her to 'wait'. (I lost my beloved little boy yorkie Arnold to our very busy road last year.) She is getting very good, but I keep her on her lead all the time during this, and am very consistant. I ask her to wait but daren't say anything like 'good girl' or 'go' until I'm ready to go. She sets off if I say anything.
I saw a lady near my niece's with 4 yorkies, each one without a leash, some stood some sat, but none went until she gave the 'go' command. |
