I'd go back to the old food and see if the vomiting stops. If it doesn't he needs to be seen in case there is an obstruction. If the vomiting stops I would be very suspicious of the new food. I think it would be okay to go back to the old food, keep him on it for a few days, then slowly switch to something else. It would also be okay to give chicken and rice for a day or two if he does well with chicken or a little bit of yogurt and banana.

This can also happen with pancreatitis (vomiting after eating) but it would take longer and shouldn't happen right away.

If he throws up the next meal with no new food mixed in, I would most definately have him seen. Again, it's probably the food but it could be an emergency if that isn't the case.
