I wanted to make sure that all YTers are aware of this.
ProHeart 6, a heartworm preventative, was pulled from the market by the FDA in 2004 after hundreds of dogs died and thousands were made sick. The preventative is an injectable given by vets and is effective for six months at a time. Because of the convenience it was extremely popular.
ProHeart 6 has been re-released for sale, with strict provisions made by the FDA.
I think its sick that the FDA agreed to release a drug known to kill dogs. Anything for money, I suppose!
PLEASE DO RESEARCH BEFORE AGREEING TO A HEARTWORM PREVENTATIVE INJECTABLE!!
