My oldest cat has started peeing on the carpeted landing of my stairwell. I have shampooed it and soaked it with nature's miracle. The stench is improved but still there. I also tried pouring some vinegar on it. Anything else short of ripping up the carpet that I can do to get rid of the smell? What about some baking soda dissolved in water? I have had cats all of my life but never a smell problem as bad as this. Thanks for any help you can give.
