1. Yes....the checks were a sort of "rebate/refund" to help get the economy moving again. I think the highest refund was $1200 (so I believe the checks mailed out were from $600-1200). I think the amount you got back was either based on how much you paid in or what you made or something like that.
2. Yes....we have dental insurance, but ours, we have to pay everything "up front" and then we turn the forms in (ourselves - instead of waiting for the dentist office to file them)...we get our refund back (portion that the insurance covers, etc) within 2-5 days. So, it is a pain to have to pay it all up front, but our dental insurance is good...pays a lot of it...just having the money all up front. AND I think dental visits are overly high in my area!! OUCH!
