Children are definitely attracted to small dogs. I try to make a learning experience out of it. Tell them that they have to first ask, then approach slowly with their open hand up, let the furbaby smell them a bit, and then slowly scratch behind the ears. Parent's do NOT teach their children how to deal with dogs. Makes too much of a chance for a bite.
