Default The bigger issue here is the unethical practices of puppy mills

I am glad to hear that you have had a good experience, however, the bigger issue here is that people that purchase puppies from pet stores are really contributing to the horrible and inhumane practices of puppy mills. There are so many reputable breeders all over the country that really do a great job maintaining the integrity of the breed. My heart aches every time I hear about people buying from pet stores or brokers because all those puppies mostly come from puppy mills. This is the typical economic of scales; if we stop buying from them, they will eventually have to go out of business or find a different way to make their living.

For any prospective buyer reading this post, please take your time to really research and find a good breeder. It saddens me to know that some people take more time researching the prospective purchase of a home theater system and/or car than the time and efforts they spend on researching the purchase of a dog.
