The city I live in banned pitbulls a few years ago. I have to say I feel safer taking my little yorkie on a walk knowing there are no pitbulls nearby, as pitbulls are aggressive towards dogs and many times humans. I'm sure some pitbulls are not that way, but they are known to be aggressive and that usually doesn't show up in them until they are between 1 and 3. I'd hate to buy a puppy and a few years later have him/her turn on me or someone else...I just wouldn't want to take the chance! I saw a show on Animal Planet a few nights ago where a pitbull attacked another dog and when a man tried to stop the fight, his arm was torn to pieces by the pitbull! I hope not to upset anyone here, but I am glad we have the ban on pitbulls in my city. |
