I opted to have it refinished, and they did a beautiful job. I honestly don't know how they brought it back the way they did.
The down side is that there is a bit of an odour, from whatever it is that they used on it, but only for a few hours, and so we just did some gardening outside for a while.
I'm glad we had it done.

Our tub is 58 years old.
I practically get in there and close my eyes so I don't have to look at it.
