I'm sorry, that was pretty stupid of me, but honestly, I've never been able to smell one of Joey's. His are pretty firm, almost like tootsie rolls, I would think the greater the moisture the more the smell.


I was told years ago, that the easier it is for a human baby to digest something the less the poop stinks. Breast-fed babies who have no other food have good smelling poop, much like applesauce, and it's not firm. I don't know if the same thing applies with fur babies, but it may mean your dog isn't completely digesting the food, and some is actually rotting.
