Can I just ask a question? Do a lot of the recipes use "prepared" stuff or are they from scratch, or both? I try to stay away from preservatives and I get frustrated when so many cookbooks use Velveeta cheese and Pillsbury exploding biscuits and mushroom soup.

I'd like some recipes that make things from scratch. I already know how to drive to the store and buy refrigerated dough.
Please let me know! I'm interested and usually these compiled cookbooks are worth it. I just don't have the option of browsing through it first. THANKS!!
