Crush up some ice cubes and put them in a sandwich bag and put that on the gum until it gets cold. When the gum gets cold it'll sorta freeze and you can break it off.
Of course, you can threaten to stick them in the freezer until the gum gets cold. This wouldn't work on Gracie, she'd be all for it. "Yea Momma! A new adventure!"
