I live in the country too and it is hard to leave and go anywhere and not take Lily along so I have found if I put everything out of the "bathroom" that she can get into and put a pee pad (washable one because she tears up others) and put her food, water, toys and bed (whatever your puppy sleeps in) and she will be fine like that for hours!! Works great for me because it is just impossible to go anywhere and be back in time for her to go outside and potty!! She does real good with it and doesn't cry or anything and she is one that carries on in her crate!!lol
