Has he ever been dewormed? If he has not then this couldbe a contributing factor .
Is he peeing and pooping regularly? AND is their any blood in his stool?
You may want to take a stool sample with you when you take him to the vet.
If he is playing and alert, then he is probably ok, but does need to be checked out for common ailments that pups can get.
