Her son refused to leave his dog at home and boarding wasn't an option at that point. They stayed home with their only son, mother-in-law and father-in-law. They do have their home and two businesses in Houma so I know their businesses are a concern to them also.
At last check, they were getting steady rain and winds were picking up. We're definitely worried about them and pray for no harm to come to them.
I've seen the devastation storms can do as a licensed insurance agent. I got out of that career area after Hurricane Juan. It was a nightmare and heartache to see what those people went through in trying to get their damages assessed and compensated.
I did however, contact our Farm Bureau district manager by cell since I've arrived here and offered my help in photographing damages for their clients once we all return home. The DM is in Alexandria, about an hour or so from where I am now. Hopefully we'll all be able to return to Lafourche Parish soon.
