I think Sue is referring to the show breeders that have the black/tan colors, along with some that also breed the "red leg"....even though the YTCA standards also consider this to be "off-colors" based on the newest written changes.
To the original poster, I think that you should do what you want and feel comfortable with.....but that's just my opinion.
