Does anyone have a Dell Inspiron 1525??

I need to get a new laptop. I've had this one for a few years and it's starting to show it's age. I just need something basic. I don't typically take it around with me so being lightweight isn't essential. I'll just use it for surfing the web, writing papers, the occasional Power Point presentation, uploading pictures, downloading some songs, etc.- nothing overly complicated.

I'm thinking about just getting the basic Dell Inspiron 1525. When I purchased my last laptop from Dell they convinced me I needed all these extra things and I still have no idea what I spent the (significant) extra money on.

Any suggestions? Is there a best time of the year to purchase a new computer?
