This story breaks my heart. I cannot believe that a city would ban a certain breed of dogs. I am not overly familiar (ie I don't own one) with Pitties, but I think they're great and beautiful. What about Dobermans and Rottweilers? I love both of them as well, but my friend's yorkie was eaten by a Rottweiler and her Maltese was hurt as well in the same incident. To be perfectly blunt -- this PISSES me off royally.
