I personally think that there is also some confusion over the "teacup" label. I don't get offended when people use the term, I just assume they are ignorant, but I do get upset when a breeder uses the term. A breeder should know better, and this leads me to believe that they are trying to mislead the public. Teapot is an affectionate term used by owners of the over 7 pound yorkie, again, I'm not upset by an owner using this word, but if a breeder used this label, I would assume that they didn't know what they were doing. Of course, I never hear breeder using this term to describe their puppies.
