Cook is always right at least at most places, cause it is easier to get another waitress than a new cook. I served for years, started out in a truck stop cafe at 16 while I was still in school, ended up in a high class dinner house. Made an average of $300 a week in tips for 25 hours a week (this was in the 70's), now I tend bar at concerts, events etc on a part time basis (I am an office manager full time) and can make an extra $500 to $1000 a month depending on event schedule. It does get easier. For a part time job there is nothing that gives the opportunity to make as much money in a short period of time. Hang in there, we all have bad days, nice people make up for those unhappy. |
